Thank you Aavakai for giving us the opportunity. It was not like all other
musical nights. It was a musical night with a mission. It was a journey with the
real Sirivennela - THE PHILOSOPHER. We knew him as a lyricist for 1000s of songs
which always talked about the way of life. But, the event gave us an opportunity
to hear and learn the way of life from him.
It was inspirational, self realizing and a new beginning for many of usPraveen Kaandikattuhttp://www.kpraveenk.com

First of all, congratulations on starting your own Music band and giving an
awesome performance on New Year eve. You are all talented people and bringin
everybody under one roof and performing infront of audience with different taste
and keeping them on their toes is not a small achievement. YOU DESERVE A GREAT
applause. Youe vigor, determinatio to deliver the best show can be seen
throughout the program. ESpecially your hard work behind having a mark of your
own designed costume for all performers shows your meticulous planning and
creativity.
Am sure with your talent (surya and Co)and ability to present and make it
closer to the public (Susmitha and Co) makes you a winning band. Wishing you all
success and hoping to see many more great programs from you. -Sree Budhavarapu

We spent the new years’ eve at Sandadi 2008 listening to live Telugu Music from
the new & happening band - Aavakai.
They are also known as “drumstix” in the non-telugu speaking community and
produce live entertainment shows and concerts in Telugu and Hindi. Surya &
Susmitha, the founders of Aavakai, are good friends of ours. Surya is the
talented musician that tied the band together while Sushmitha manages their
rather large group of talented musicians.
The response for Sandadi 2008 was tremendous but the place was a little too
crammed for 500+ people. But what would you do when you are only on your second
show as a band and are already sold out completely? You try and deliver your
best. And that is what Aavakai did. They chose a wide variety of Telugu songs
and tried to reach out to the whole Audience.
Dinner and drinks were served at the Sandadi 2008 venue as well. The Food
from Peacock Indian Cafe was good. All in all, the Audience seemed to have a
blast at Sandadi 2008 and were up on their feet through out the event.
We enjoyed the electric ambience of Sandadi 2008 as much as everybody but
felt that the true musical depth of this band has not been presented last night.

I hope they will continue to improvise, perform, enthuse and enthrall the bay
area audience going into 2008 and for many more years to come. Uday JarajapuTue, Jan 1 2008, 12:40 pm,

Congratulations on your first show.
That was an awesome show with great performances by all the artists. We
enjoyed all the songs very much and were among the people who clapped and
cheered 'once more'.Congrats again. My best wishes to all of you. Keep
it up.

Your team has a lot of energy! I enjoyed all songs in your show, especially
Chayya Chayya and Fanaa. Couldn't resist from dancing for Chayya Chayya. Keep up
the great work.

Here is my feedback on the Drumstix debut.

The band opened very well with Fanaa. The anxiety was written all over the faces & body language of the lead singers. The male vocals and music synced up very well.

In 'zaraa zaraa', Phani uncle's work on the pads really stood out and made it look real/authentic. The singer sounds good by herself.

Chayya Chayya kicked ass. This is the kind of crowd puller that I see you guys being good at. The stage was lively, the people enjoyed every bit, someone even asked for a repeat!

Kajra re - the lady knew she was good and she drew the audience into the song. Someone even went on asking if the lady was the lead member of the band. She loved her better than the male singers. I think she will be your x-factor.

All in all, the crowds loved you. You reminded me of the days I was on the road with my father & his brother doing concerts in a frenzy - around 1200 before I turned 14.

Performing live has a kick of its own, especially when the band performs well and remains empathetic to the pulse of the audience. I hope and believe you and your team enjoyed every bit of it like we did.
