Prawasi - Sandadi 08 in San Jose, CA

Aavakai Music - Bay area’s only live Telugu music band, in association with Peacock Indian Café, presented an eclectic New Year party, Sandadi ’08 – a live Telugu New Year's eve dance party for the first time in the Bay area.

There was tremendous response for the show with 500+ Telugu audience and the tickets were completely sold out a day before the show. The party included sumptuous dinner, energetic live dance performances by local artists, dance floor with live music from Aavakai band and non-stop telugu deejay music.
Aavakai kicked off their performance with their theme song – “Aavakai – thinani brathukey wastu, Aavakai – vinani lifey rustoo, Aavakai – worldu loney bestu, Idi telugu vaadi tastoooo!”

In spite of audio glitches for the first couple of songs because of unanticipated rush at the venue, the band quickly rebounded on the stage with tremendous energy and enthusiasm and captivated the audience with high-energy dance and techno numbers. Soon, lot of young dancers got on to the stage to dance to the foot-tapping music. By the time the live show reached its climax, the dance floor was overflowing with relentless energy. True to their punchy tag line of ‘we serve spicy music’, the band’s  infectious energy spiced up the dance floor.

All the singers showed maturity & youthful vigor in their voices and the orchestration for the songs was mesmerizing. The band performed ‘You are my Choco bar’ from Chirutha, ‘Ye Cheekati’ from Happy Days, ‘Shankar Dada MBBS’ title song and many other telugu dance hits.

The audience was also entertained with a variety of high energy dance performances and the floor was open to Telugu DJ music towards the end of the show. There was champagne toast by Raman Sanchula at the stroke of ‘12 and the New Year was welcomed with cake cutting amidst fervour.
