Arun a.k.a goes by the name owing to his immense energy with the drumsticks in his hand. Starting with a pair of combs as drumsticks and an old Philips tape recorder as his drums, he's come a long way from his first composition in his fifth grade ro becoming the lead drummer for Aavakai.

Trained under the aegis of 'Drummer Gopal', he played in many rock shows since a very young age. Right from starting a band called 'Untamed' during his stint at Carnegie Mellon University to managing a Tamil band called 'Sahana' in the Bay area, he has proven his talent and, commitment to music and drumming.

Arun is equally talented in mimicry and rejuvenates Aavakaiites after our long rehearsal session, by imitating Thalaivar, Kamal Hassan or any actor on request. It is not surprising that he is in high demand across bay area for mimicry and MC-ing.
