bass guitar < back

Krishna   - Known for his good ear for music & attention to detail in any song, the team teasingly refers to him as Bassix – the bass guitarist who sets our basics right. Krishna hails from a musically rich family & most of his musical skills in rhythm and melody were picked up from them at a very young age. He is versatile with many instruments like keyboard which he picked up on his with the aid of internet, percussion instruments like Tabla, Dappu & bass guitar. Of all the instruments, he enjoys playing the bass guitar for he loves melody and rhythm as a combo and bass is one of the few instruments that fetches both melody and rhythm at the same time. He thanks Maestro Ilaiyaraja’s music for without him, he says he wouldn’t have touched bass guitar or the keyboard. He often says that the cryptic melodic and bass patterns in Ilayraja’s music constantly urge him to learn more and more.

Krishna learned Tabla in Secunderabad Music College in India and continued his education in the US under the able guidance of Mr. Gabe Halberg in Burlington and Mr. Ravi Gutala in San Jose. He learned Bass guitar from Mr. Russ Hodges. He listens to any music that’s different in its own way especially music by Ilayaraja, A.R Rahman & Carnatic music. BTW, the expression you see in the picture to the right is one of his rarest ;)

Before joining “Aavakai”, he played for another band called “Desibels” in Salt Lake City, where he played the bass, tabla and keyboard besides singing.

Interests: Music composition ( Krishna aspires to compose at least one music album in the near future), drawing & outdoor games. Inspired by Mandolin Srinivas, he would like to learn/play Mandolin someday.
